ICT Activities for the Daily Maths Lesson (Reception & KS1)

Date: 5/7/01 Time: 9.30 - 15.30
Tutor: Verna-Jean Gervais
Details:

This course is designed to enable KS1 teachers to make the best use of existing ICT resources to support work on numeracy. Using commonly available software, we will investigate ideas and solutions on how to support mathematics in the numeracy hour without spending more money on additional and specialized software. A primary focus of the course will be to develop strategies on how to use a single classroom computer within the framework of the numeracy hour. You will be shown how you can develop your own resources with, for example painting and word processing software to produce activities for pupils to use within different strands of the numeracy strategy. You do not need to be a computer expert to produce these resources, although the course will be of most benefit if you have at least a little experience of using such software.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Closing Date: 28/6/01
